Conduct local risk assessment
This course is designed for personnel who are involved in applying basic risk control processes to effectively and efficiently perform a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) or JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) on any task in the workplace. This course can sometimes be referred to as JSEA (Job Safety & Environment Analysis) Training within certain industries.
Participants will learn how to identify hazards, assess risk, identify unacceptable risk, implement risk treatment and complete recording documentation.
This course is a prerequisite for the unit MSAPMPER300B Issue work permits, which forms part of the Confined Space Entry industry skills requirement. The work described in this course is equivalent to MNCC1006A Conduct local risk control.
Course Subjects
- Understand what a JSA is and recognise when to conduct one
- Purpose of risk management process /methods
- Explain risk management processrelevant to the workplace
- Proactively identify hazards and takeaction in response to risks
- Apply the hierarchy of risk control
- Access safety information relevant tothe workplace
- Use relevant reporting and recordingprocedures
- Complete a JSA
- Use JSA to improve workplace processes
Duration: ½ day course
Assessment
Participants will be required to demonstrate through practical scenarios simulating the completion of a Job Safety Analysis form.
