Contribute to OHS Processes
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to follow Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace. It provides the ability to identify and control workplace risks and hazards, apply appropriate responses to emergency situations, and communicate workplace safety requirements. This work would normally be carried out under routine supervision within organisational guidelines.
This course can be tailored to the industries that the students are working in and is a practical based course; this means that the student does not require a high literacy level.
Course Subjects
- Assist implementation of safetypolicy and procedures into the workplace
- Deal with emergency situations
- Encourage and maintain participationin OH&S in the workplace
Duration: 8 hours
Assessment
You will be assessed during the course to show your instructor that you have an appropriate understanding of the safety policy and procedures necessary, and how to deal with emergency situations. Assessment is done by question and answer, group activities and practical assessment.
