Therapeutic Massage
Many of today's health problems can benefit from massage therapy because the manipulation of soft tissues affects so many of our bodily systems. Massage therapy treatments have a therapeutic affect and improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic (immune) systems among many other extensive benefits. Massage therapy is also effective in the control of chronic or acute pain, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being.
The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice is a nationally recognised course under the Health Training Package (HLT07) and provides graduates with the minimum qualification and skills set required for work in the massage industry. On successful completion our graduates are automatically eligible to join the Australian Traditional Medicine Society as accredited Level One Massage Therapists. This provides you with national professional recognition and access to professional insurance and medical rebate opportunities for your clients from approximately forty health funds.
This course integrates deep tissue therapeutic massage techniques with sciences including anatomy and physiology, pathology and symptomology and diagnosis and exercise therapy. The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice includes clinical training providing invaluable hands-on workplace experience in a supervised setting. The clinical experience allows students to develop confidence in deep tissue therapeutic massage techniques as they learn to assess and treat their clients. The Certificate IV in Massage course may also be used as a great stepping stone along the way to future diploma courses and then onto a university degree.
