Certificate II in Security Operations
Full time course is commencing on the 30th of August until the 10th of September.
Your instructor's goal is to provide you with the information and skills to become an effective and efficient security professional. Role-plays, scenarios, case studies, class discussions and real life experiences provide students with a positive learning environment. All Eagle Training Services instructors have current industry experience.
Each module complies with Police and/or State training authorities, Govt licensing authorities, DEET, etc. All modules are nationally recognised and approved by the relevant licensing authority.
Pre-Requisite
It is a pre-requisite for this course that students MUST have a good verbal and written English skills.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion the student will be able to
- Obtain a Security Officer/Crowd Controller licence.
- Work effectively within the security industry.
- Protect the interest of yourself and your employer.
Course Subjects:
- Legal Studies: Civil Law, Criminal Law, Negligence, Duty of Care, Courts, Arrest Powers, Trespass, Self Defence, Search, Questioning, Security licensing legislation.
- Property Protection: Major Incidents, How to Handle a Bomb Threat, Fire Procedures, Hazardous Goods, Foundations of Security.
- Psychology: Temperament Analysis, Group Dynamics, Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, Mediation, Body Language, Verbal Responses.
- Security Officers Duties: Mobile Patrols, Static Guard, Access Control, Retail Security, Alarm Response, Workplace Health and Safety.
- Crowd Controller's Duties: Hotels, Licensed Clubs, Night Clubs, Special Events, Concerts, Use of a Hand Held Metal Detector.
- First Aid: CPR, Primary Survey, Secondary Survey, Bleeding and Wounds, Burns, Head Injuries, Shock, Medical Emergencies, Fracture Management, Poisoning, Bites and Stings.

The course that EagleTraining Services NT offers also incorporates the below units to enable participants to gain dual security licence status within the Northern Territory. These below units are issued as a Statement of Attainment.

Duration
The Part time course is run over 4 weeks part time, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm - 9pm and Saturday 9 - 4pm. The Full time course starts at 9am finishing at 4pm daily.
